I was inspired by my first "color painting" teachers, Ingrid letterer, and Pat Weaver, to use watercolor medium to paint. Since I was a child,I have enjoyed drawing, making the transition to using a brush and color was the next step in improving my skills as an artist. Not knowing any better and buying massive amounts of supplies, I have spent the last 7 years becoming a watercolorist. For as difficult a media as it is, I have fallen in love with it. I will try any subject that has a good design and a personal emotional component. My love is animals and figurative work, but in all of my travels, I have photographed and painted many landscapes. As I have progressed, I have moved from painting to interpreting what I see and this has been and will be a great motivation to the direction of my art. I would rather not be known for one type of subject matter or style. These paintings are representative of my work. Some are available for sale while others have sold or I just can't part with at this time. I have shown work locally and have won several awards for my work. I am a member of the Florida Watercolor society and PAVA. I am also an Ophthalmologist and show my work at my office 1006 N. Ft. Harrison Ave., Clearwater, Florida. |
